More details emerge for the Shark Tank-like contest at next week’s TechJam

Last year, a group of local startup folks, including Apperian’s chief marketing officer Mark Lorion and MassTLC director Christine Nolan, got together to organize the first Boston TechJam.

With the success of last year’s event, this year’s TechJam, taking place next Thursday June 12, is moving to City Hall Plaza for what should be a bigger celebration of the Boston tech scene.

Like last year, the event will feature a Shark Tank-esque pitch contest, the“Startup Pitch Heard ‘Round the World,’” where six early-stage companies will present their ideas to a panel of local venture capitalists. This year’s panel features Chip Hazard, general partner at Flybridge Capital Partners; James Geshwiler of CommonAngels; Project 11′s Katie Rae; and Peter Boyce II of General Catalyst and Rough Draft Ventures.
